It was a warm and humid day, in Michigan’s season of “Construction” when Susan Darnall fought orange barrels throughout her drive from Chicago to Sterling Heights to deliver a family jewel to the General Motors Heritage Center. She donated an accessory trunk, which once belonged to her grandmother. In 1923, Susan’s grandmother was killed in a car accident in New York, and the trunk and her grandmothers belongings were shipped back to her home in Kansas City.

Susan has had the trunk for about 50 years, and wanted to find a new home for the trunk—on the back of a car, instead of storing blankets in an attic. Thank you, Susan!
